Together Growing

Together we can do more
Together we can do better
Together we can build a sustainable future

Together for Sustainable Development (TSD) aims to promote sustainable development in remote communities in southern Chin State. We have a particular focus on sustainable education – and by this we mean life-long and life-sustaining education: from children in school, to farmers trying new methods in the field, to women’s groups learning to run cooperatives, and more! Addressing the interconnected problems faced in these communities, we also aim to improve food security, promote inclusion, and meet urgent needs in times of crisis. Learn more about who we are.

“Participating in this program has been a turning point for me…It has given me a dream that pushes me through my struggles and gives me hope for my old age. I really wish we would have had this kind of direction and support before.”
~ Hraki (participant in TSD’s Food Security programme)

“I’m happy to be selected as an Ambassador for Sustainable Education and to be a role model for younger brothers and sisters in my village. The education system is very low quality in my village and we have few graduates. I try to think of ways that I can help the younger students to learn, be successful in class and graduate. When the holidays come, I plan to volunteer to teach math and English to boys and girls in my village.”
~ Hriepar (Ambassador for Sustainable Education since 2019)

“We feel so much hope for our community now. We have learned how to construct and correctly manage water systems from spring sources. We feel more secure now with the idea that our land is sufficient for our food security. We just need more skills still to reach what is possible.”
~ Khai Ki (President of the Sabawngpi Women’s Self Help Group)

“The project has brought us health and happiness…Now we always have enough vegetables for our family, and I can even give some greens away to friends and neighbours. I also sell vegetables in our village and people like to buy from me.”
~ Losi (participant in TSD’s Food Security programme)
